Job Summary
Medical Assistant to support the medical team in women’s health by assisting with patient care, health education, and various administrative tasks under direct supervision. Responsibilities include helping nurses and providers with patient treatment and follow-up, performing general medical office procedures, administering healthcare activities under supervision, providing health education to patients and families, ensuring safety and infection control per OSHA and AZDHS, contributing to team meetings, and maintaining proper documentation in patient care charts.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or Equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with at least 2 years of experience in an ambulatory care setting or hospital
- Current State Certification
- CPR certification required
- Certified Phlebotomy preferred
- Knowledge of patient care charts and histories
- Familiarity with maternal mental health and diabetes is preferred but not required
- Understanding of aseptic and sterile techniques
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse community
- Knowledge of medical terminology and general ICD-10 and CPT coding
- Attention to detail and adherence to Alium Health policies and procedures
- Level One Fingerprint Clearance or ability to obtain may be required
- Reliable transportation
