Job Summary
Medical Assistant Cardiothoracic Surgery: 100% FTE, Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm at UW Health Rockford clinic. Duties include taking vital signs, recording patient histories, EKGs, medication reconciliation, and specimen collections. Under physician delegation, may perform additional tasks; alerts provider/nurse of emergent needs. Prepare patients for examination and procedures; contribute to a compassionate, team-driven environment with emphasis on quality care. Must hold an accredited associate degree or medical assistant program credential or have ≥2 years of relevant clinic experience; HS diploma or equivalent required. Certification as RMA/AAMA/CCMA/NCCT required upon hire and maintained; CPR certification required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited Associate degree program or Medical Assistant program or have at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Must provide copy of HS diploma or equivalent, or highest level of completed degree obtained.
- Licenses & Certifications: RMA, AAMA, CCMA or NCCT certification is required upon hire.
- Bi-Annual CPR certification.
- Active RMA, AAMA, CCMA or NCCT certification must be maintained.
