Job Summary
Greet patients with courtesy and respect while managing registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and billing to ensure a seamless experience. Perform patient care tasks under the direction of licensed providers, including collecting patient information and data, and assisting physicians with procedures in a medical office or hospital setting. Maintain current CPR certification and utilize strong clerical skills with excellent computer proficiency. This role supports the UHS Heart and Vascular Institute in Johnson City, contributing to the system's mission of improving community health through compassion and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program or direct patient care experience, including but not limited to collection of patient information and data, patient interactions or assisting physicians with procedures in a medical office or hospital setting
- Documentation of current CPR certification required within 1 week of start of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a walk in / primary care/ specialty care setting
- Certified medical administrative assistant (CMAA)
- Strong clerical background with excellent computer skills
