Job Summary
Register and schedule patients, print provider schedules, and manage office and clinical supply inventories. Process clinical supply orders, complete lab requests and health forms, and maintain logs per regulatory guidelines. Administer injections, EKGs, spirometry, and phlebotomy as instructed by the physician. Screen office calls, greet patients, and handle protected health information releases. Input data accurately into the electronic health record and obtain patient vital signs. Interview, triage, and prepare patients for examinations while demonstrating I.C.A.R.E. behaviors. Requires CPR certification and experience with medical equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One year of clerical/billing experience in a medical office setting
- Experience operating multi-line phone systems, fax machines, photocopiers, PCs, credit card machines, glucometers, EKG machines and other medical equipment as required by the medical practice
- Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification
- If serving as a bilingual/multilingual interpreter, certification in Medical Interpretation
Desired Qualifications
- CMA, RMA or AAMA (through an approved/accredited organization)
