Job Summary
The Medical Assistant supports providers by facilitating patient flow and enhancing the patient experience in a clinical setting. Responsibilities include preparing patients for the physician, recording medical histories, ensuring consent forms are collected, preparing and administering medications, and assisting physicians during examinations. Key skills include strong interpersonal abilities, proficiency in Windows-based technologies, and excellent communication skills. A high school diploma and one year of relevant experience are required, along with a preference for Medical Assistant certification and CPR certification.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a busy physician’s office or equivalent combination of certification and experience preferred
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and coding
Desired Qualifications
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred
- CPR for Healthcare Providers certification preferred
- Experience and proficiency working with computers and electronic medical records
