Job Summary
Medical Assistant at Piedmont Urgent Care in Brookhaven, GA. The role focuses on delivering hands-on patient care in a fast-paced clinical setting, including preparing patients for examinations, triage and vital signs, documenting patient history in EMR, collecting routine lab specimens, administering medications and injections, starting IVs and placing catheters as needed, and supporting occupational medicine services. Responsibilities also include basic clinical and laboratory procedures, ensuring HIPAA/OSHA compliance, and handling administrative duties and office equipment. Travel to other Piedmont Urgent Care locations is required to support staffing. Requires completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program; 1+ year healthcare experience preferred; proficiency with EMR (EPIC preferred). Shift is full-time with 12-hour shifts and weekend/holiday coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- 1+ year healthcare experience preferred (urgent care or ER a plus)
- Proficiency in venipuncture, injections, and clinical procedures
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software, EPIC preferred
- Flexibility: ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays
