Job Summary
Coordinate breast cancer screening and diagnostic follow-up by identifying overdue patients, scheduling mammograms and imaging studies, and tracking results to ensure timely provider review. Serve as a central liaison among providers, navigators, and imaging centers to facilitate referrals, manage external records, and prevent care gaps. Perform direct patient care duties including vital signs, injections, triage, and administering treatments while documenting encounters in the electronic health record. Manage administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and phone communications to support seamless clinic operations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate
- Medical Assistant certification
- At least one year of related medical assisting experience in a physician's office or other clinical setting
- Completion of business school or related training, including computer courses
- Experience with, and proficiency in, electronic medical records
- Bi-lingual in Spanish
Desired Qualifications
- Re-processing/procedural experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting
- Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in women's health, primary care, radiology, oncology, breast health, or care coordination
- Experience coordinating mammography, breast imaging, or oncology-related services
- Familiarity with breast cancer screening guidelines and breast imaging workflows
- Experience with population health management and quality improvement programs
- Use of EPIC software
