Medical Assistant, Bilingual (69142)

Medical Assistant assists Providers with patient examinations, pre-visit questions, treatments and procedures as directed by the Provider, while maintaining an efficient flow of patients through the clinic. Greets patients and escorts them to pre-examination information gathering; documents in EMR; measures and records vitals (height, weight, respiration, pulse, blood pressure, temperature, SpO2, head circumference as appropriate); documents chief complaints; administers medications and injections under provider direction; reviews Telephone Encounters in EMR; administers immunizations and updates OSIIS and EMR; prepares/restocks exam rooms; assists with physical exams and procedures; participates in training to improve patient care; emphasizes cultural sensitivity and effective communication; follows Universal Precautions and PPE usage; adheres to HIPAA and OSHA guidelines; coordinates referrals and communicates results; provides back-up coverage at other Variety Care centers as needed; supports accreditation and patient-centered care initiatives; embodies professional conduct and ethical standards; able to function as a member of an emergency code team and to assist in emergencies; familiar with crash cart and emergency kit; understands MA competency checklist; performs other duties as assigned. Occasional travel to other Variety Care centers with mileage reimbursement.
