Job Summary
Medical Assistant in Baptist Health Medical Group for OBGYN in LaGrange, KY. Provides direct patient care and clinical support in an outpatient clinic, including obtaining vitals, documenting patient history and medications, reconciling medications, scheduling, handling prior authorizations, coordinating tests/procedures, and managing electronic health records (EPIC). May perform EKGs, phlebotomy, injections after competency, and requires regular on-site presence. Sign-on bonus of $2000 for eligible new hires. Strong communication and organizational skills required to support providers.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency
- 1+ year(s) of Medical Assistant experience in a medical office, clinic or similar setting
- Hands-on patient care experience (vital signs, history, medications, clinical procedures) OR graduate of an accredited MA program with hands-on clinical experience
- Clinical competency assessment and MA orientation
- Basic computer skills, EMR experience a plus
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association within 90 days of hire
- BAT and DOT certifications within 90 days of hire for Occupational Medicine
- Preferred: Current MA Certification (AAMA/AMT/NAHP/NCCT/AAMP) or graduate of LPN/RN program with licensure
- Education: High School or Equivalent | Not Required
