Job Summary
The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care and clinical support within an outpatient clinic, including obtaining vital signs, reconciling medications, and collecting patient history. Responsibilities also entail managing electronic health records, scheduling appointments, processing medication requests, and coordinating tests and procedures. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, experience in hands-on patient care, and basic computer skills. Upon hiring, certification and competencies related to patient care must be validated.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency
- 1+ year(s) of experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office, clinic or similar setting
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire
- BAT and DOT certifications required for Medical Assistants in Occupational Medicine within 90 days of hire
Additional Requirements
- Must successfully complete clinical competency assessment and MA orientation upon hire
- Those who do not meet required standards will be enrolled in the Medical Assistant Trainee Program
