Job Summary
Prepare and room patients, obtain vital signs, and update electronic medical records with comprehensive health data. Escort patients to examination rooms, administer medications, and assist providers during procedures while verifying consents and participating in time outs. Manage incoming telephone calls, route concerns appropriately, and support patient triage under supervision. Schedule appointments, process medication refill requests, and complete patient-related forms such as FMLA and disability paperwork. Monitor inventory levels, maintain clean exam rooms, and adhere to infection prevention protocols. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support patient safety during daily clinic operations across multiple locations.
Required Qualifications
- Certified or Registered as Medical Assistant at time of employment (CMA, CCMA, or RMA)
- Must be CPR certified within 3 months of hire
- Strong critical thinking abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication and counseling skills
- Willingness to learn phlebotomy and point of care labs
- Willingness to work throughout our busy clinics, supporting a variety of specialties and physicians
- Willingness to work at not only our Main Clinic located in Beloit, WI, but will also work at our various other locations including Westside Clinic, NorthPointe Clinic, Clinton Clinic, and our South Beloit Clinic
- Demonstrate proficiency in department-specific software applications and electronic health record systems
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of clinical experience desirable
- Prior experience in clinic specialty preferred, but willing to train
- Preferred Experience with Electronic Medical Records
