Job Summary
Take vital signs, perform patient intake and history, complete clinical orders, procedures, and documentation, and manage patient discharge. Support providers with pelvic and breast exams, cervical cytology screening, and in-office surgical procedures such as miscarriage management and colposcopy. Assist patients seeking gender-affirming therapy and services for pregnancy loss, including collecting supplies and organizing instruments. Full-time schedules vary from 7:30am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday, with some locations requiring evening and weekend shifts. Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- CPR-Basic Life Support of Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association
- MAI - Graduate of an accredited MA program OR demonstrated competencies of MA I (evaluated by hiring manager) with minimum 1 year experience in a medical office
- MAII - Graduate of an accredited MA program OR demonstrated competencies of MA II (evaluated by hiring manager for level hiring for) with minimum 3 years' current relevant medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting
- MAIII - Graduate of an accredited MA program with a minimum of 5 years' current relevant medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting preferred OR demonstrated competencies of MA III (evaluated by hiring manager) with a minimum of 5 years' current relevant medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting OR minimum of two years as an MA II at a Baystate Health with demonstrated competencies of MA III
- MAIV - (Internal career ladder) Minimum of two years as an MA III at Baystate Health with demonstrated competencies for promotion to MA IV
- Graduate of an accredited MA program and registered/certified by a third-party credential body
- Credentialing must be awarded by a third-party credentialing body which can be obtained through: 1. Registered through Medical Assistant (ARMA) - (Minimum Requirement); 2. Registered through American Medical Technologist (AMT) association; or 3. Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Healthcare Association (NHA); or American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA); or 4. Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- GED or HiSET
