Job Summary
Medical Assistant at Piedmont Urgent Care supporting patient care in a fast-paced clinic. Responsibilities include patient preparation, triage and vital signs, documenting patient history in EMR, collecting lab specimens, administering medications and injections (intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal), starting IVs and placing catheters, performing basic clinical and laboratory procedures, assisting with occupational medicine services (drug screening, audiograms, pulmonary function testing), ensuring HIPAA/OSHA compliance, handling administrative tasks, and traveling to other Piedmont Urgent Care locations as needed. Requires completion of an accredited MA program, 1+ year experience (urgent care/ER a plus), proficiency in venipuncture and injections, EMR experience (EPIC preferred), and ability to work 12-hour shifts including weekends/holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Education & Certification: Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Experience: 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant (urgent care or ER a plus); willing to train outstanding new graduates
- Skills: Proficiency in venipuncture, injections, and clinical procedures
- Technical Skills: Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software, EPIC preferred
- Flexibility: Ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Team Player: A positive, proactive approach to patient care and collaboration
