Job Summary
Medical Assistant at Piedmont Urgent Care supporting hands-on patient care in a fast-paced clinic. Key duties include patient preparation, triage and vital signs, documenting patient history in EMR, collecting lab specimens (blood, urine, oral swabs), administering medications and injections (IM, SUBQ, ID), starting IVs, placing catheters, splinting, and supporting occupational medicine services (drug screening, audiograms, pulmonary function testing) while ensuring HIPAA/OSHA compliance. Also performs general administrative tasks and contributes to quality assurance programs. Requires completion of an accredited MA program and 1+ year of MA experience (urgent care or ER a plus), EMR experience (EPIC preferred), and the ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays. Travel to other Piedmont Urgent Care locations may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant (urgent care or ER a plus)
- Proficiency in venipuncture, injections, and clinical procedures
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR); EPIC preferred
- Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays
