Job Summary
Medical Assistant needed to support patient visits and care at Barnabas clinic. Responsible for aiding with nursing procedures under RN/provider supervision, escorting patients, taking medical history, measuring vitals, documenting in EMR, filing and preparing reports, performing EKGs and basic lab duties, assisting providers in exam rooms, acting as room chaperone, triaging and responding to patient and staff inquiries, scheduling procedures (CT/MRI), maintaining stocked exam rooms, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and safety protocols. Requires healthcare knowledge, medical terminology proficiency, EMR skills, and strong patient education and customer service abilities; role involves preparing for injections, assisting with Pap smears, and supporting efficient patient flow. Full-time schedule Monday–Friday with possible evening/weekend hours; no travel expected. Education/experience: Medical Assistant Certification or equivalent healthcare experience with credentialing updated within 3 months; CPR/First Aid by end of introductory period.
Required Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant Certification at time of job offer or two years’ experience in the medical field and certification updated within three months of being on the job, and employee must not lapse credentialing.
- CPR and First Aid certification required by the end of introductory period of 90 days, and employee must not lapse credentialing.
