Job Summary
Collect test samples, maintain patient records, and explain common medical procedures while performing nursing procedures under RN supervision. Escort patients to exam rooms, measure vital signs, and document information in the EMR. Perform EKGs, change dressings, assist with joint injections, and serve as a room chaperone. Schedule appointments for CT scans and MRI's, triage messages, and keep exam rooms sanitized. Maintain logs for refrigerator temperatures and emergency medications. This full-time role operates Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with occasional evening and weekend work. Requires current Medical Assistant Certification and CPR/First Aid.
Required Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant Certification at time of job offer
- Two years' experience in the medical field
- Medical Assistant Certification updated within three months of being on the job
- CPR and First Aid certification
- CPR and First Aid certification obtained by the end of the introductory period of 90 days
- Medical Assistant Certification (from Additional Eligibility Qualifications)

- Knowledge of EMR used by Barnabas

- Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
- Ability to perform EKG
- Ability to assist provider during Pap smear
- Patient teaching skills using 'repeat after me' and motivational interview techniques
