Job Summary
Medical Assistant needed to support clinicians and nursing staff in a Banner Health clinic setting in Peoria, AZ. Responsible for preparing patients for exams by taking vital signs, assisting with exams and minor procedures (BP, pulse, respiration, temperature, phlebotomy, EKGs), coordinating patient care (pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, scheduling, test results), handling clerical tasks (medical records, billing-related information, notifications), maintaining a clean clinical environment, ordering supplies, and fostering effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues. Requires completion of an approved MA training program and active MA certification, BLS, and strong computer skills. Shift: Monday–Friday 8:30am–5:00pm at Banner Medical Group Peoria location.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- Completion of an approved medical assistant training program
- Active Medical Assistant Certification (RMA, CMA, CCMA, NCMA or equivalent)
- BLS certification
- Ability to work with medical software and EMR
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (if applicable) and consent to criminal history checks
