Job Summary
Bay Area Foot Care seeks a Medical Assistant to support physicians and the clinical team. Responsibilities include greeting patients in person and on the phone, directing patients to exam rooms, taking vital signs, assisting with examinations, treatments, and procedures, maintaining accurate patient files, applying dressings, maintaining a sanitized and safe workspace, and upholding HIPAA. Qualifications include high school diploma or equivalent, CPR certification, completion of an approved medical assistant program (or equivalent), EMR experience (Athena a plus), strong computer skills (Microsoft Office), knowledge of basic medical procedures, excellent communication and listening abilities, knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy, strong organizational and clerical skills, customer service orientation, and knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Current American Heart Association CPR Certification
- Certification from an approved medical assistant program or equivalent combination of training
- EMR Experience, Athena experience is a plus
- Strong computer skills and use of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of basic medical procedures such as dressing a wound
- Strong communication skills and ability to actively listen
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Strong organizational and clerical skills to maintain patient files and perform office duties
- Customer services skills
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures
