Job Summary
The Medical Assistant works closely with Physicians/Providers and other members of the primary or specialty care team by performing a variety of clinical and administrative patient-related responsibilities. In this lead role, the LMA also works to fulfill a variety of patient needs and ensures smooth patient flow within the office, occasionally in both the back and front of the practice office. Responsibilities include greeting patients in person or by phone, escorting patients to exam rooms, taking vital signs and performing ancillary tests per provider guidance, preparing exam rooms and supplies, applying dressings and splints, maintaining a sanitized environment, maintaining HIPAA compliance, entering patient information into EMR, coordinating services between patients and providers, and performing other medical assistant/office duties as needed. Requires 1-2 years MA experience, HS diploma, CPR, MA program certification preferred, strong communication, multitasking, and the ability to adapt to changing technology and environments. Lifting up to 30 pounds may be required. Location-based notes indicate Valencia, CA, US.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant working in a professional outpatient practice medical office (podiatry practice highly preferred)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current American Heart Association CPR Certification or ability to achieve within timeline required
- Certification from an approved medical assistant program or equivalent combination of training and hands on relevant experience highly desired
