Job Summary
Prepare patients for examinations and treatments while performing triage and accurately taking vital signs. Obtain and document detailed patient history in the Electronic Medical Record system and collect routine laboratory specimens including blood, urine, and oral swabs. Administer medications and non-intravenous injections, start IVs, place catheters, and perform splinting as needed. Assist with occupational medicine services such as drug screening and pulmonary function testing while enforcing HIPAA and OSHA compliance. Oversee quality assurance programs and CLIA waived laboratory requirements. Perform office procedures and operate medical equipment. Support staffing needs by traveling to other Piedmont Urgent Care locations as required. Full-time 3-day/12-hour shifts from 8 AM to 8 PM with no overnight shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- 1+ year of healthcare experience
- Proficiency in venipuncture, injections, and clinical procedures
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Urgent care or ER experience
- Experience using EPIC software
- Willingness to train outstanding new graduates
- Travel to other Piedmont Urgent Care locations as required
