Job Summary

Conduct rooming and visit tasks including vital signs, medication reconciliation, and allergy reviews. Perform lab duties such as venipuncture, specimen collection, and CLIA-approved waived testing. Administer medications and vaccines safely while completing point-of-care testing per standing orders. Assist providers with procedures and manage appointment scheduling, referrals, and insurance authorizations. Maintain a clean environment, ensure equipment is stocked and functional, and support team training initiatives. Work full-time, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Structured military training which is clinical in nature per DD214 in lieu of a formal medical assistant program or EMT
  • 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
  • Successful completion of Atrium Health's competency assessment
  • Recognition or certification as a CMA or RMA by one of the following National Organizations: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Health Career Association (NHA), National Healthcare Worker's Association (NHCWA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), National Registry of Medical Assistants (NRMA)

Desired Qualifications

  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification issued by the National Health Career Association (NHA)
  • Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) certification
  • OSHA/IP certificate
  • SPICE certificate
  • Vaccine coordinator role
  • Safety coach role
  • Super-user role
  • Primary trainer for new teammates
  • Functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine-hand manipulation skills
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance
  • Experience with patient handling equipment
  • Ability to perform other related duties
