Job Summary

Conduct VA Claim Exams (C&P) support by interviewing patients for medical histories, obtaining vital signs, and performing phlebotomy, EKGs, and pulmonary function tests. Prepare clinical charts, sanitize exam rooms, and escort claimants while updating medical records and billing reports in compliance with privacy regulations. Send ordered diagnostics to facilities and manage office equipment, inventory, and scheduling via PracticeSuite. Collaborate with the Supervisor to ensure clinic operations and patient care schedules run efficiently. Minimum typing speed of 45 to 60 WPM and mandatory phlebotomy proficiency required.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy
  • Minimum typing speed 45 to 60 WPM
  • Strong familiarity with Office 365
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods during patient interactions and room preparations
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to handle medical instruments and perform procedures accurately
  • Ability to lift and carry medical supplies and equipment, which may require physical strength and stamina
  • Visual acuity to read medical records and monitor patient vitals
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effectively interacting with patients and healthcare professionals
  • Strong organizational skills to manage medical records, appointments, and administrative tasks efficiently
  • Proficiency in medical procedures, such as phlebotomy, EKGs, and PFTs
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in recording medical histories and vital signs
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to comprehend and follow healthcare provider instructions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Adherence to privacy regulations and ethical standards for maintaining patient confidentiality

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a healthcare setting
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or relevant certification
