Job Summary
Book telehealth appointments, triage patients virtually, and record patient interviews using Ascend's EMR. Facilitate consultations by pre-reviewing charts, ensuring equipment is operable, and assisting physicians with exams and referrals. Prepare patients for screenings, explain treatment procedures, and manage inbound communications including calls, chats, and emails. Collaborate with Care Coordinators to finalize care plans and follow-up appointments, while educating members on benefits and insurance navigation. Process patient messages, relay pertinent information to physicians, and ensure 100% collection of consent forms and credit cards prior to visits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR equivalent healthcare preparation (i.e. foreign-trained physician, paramedic, etc.)
- Minimum of 2 years MA experience working in a healthcare setting
- Current CPR certification
- Knowledge of clinical procedures, medical anatomy, physiology, ICD-10 and CPT codes, insurance eligibility, and copay determination
- Excellent communication skills utilizing appropriate medical terminology; and following appropriate legal and ethical professional conduct
- Spoken and written fluency in English
- Ability to be productive, agile, and successful in an intense work environment
- Must be able to work remotely without supervision
- Strong ability to utilize technology, experienced with documentation into an EMR
