Job Summary
Medical Assistant role focused on delivering direct patient services with a strong emphasis on quality of care and customer service. Responsibilities include prep for patient visits and Telehealth, maintaining exam rooms per infection-control standards, preparing patients for visits, greeting patients, taking vital signs and medical history, assisting physicians or mid-level providers as needed, restocking and ensuring orderly exam areas, and supporting efficient patient flow. Required skills include excellent communication, ability to interact professionally with diverse patient populations, adaptable multitasking in a fast-paced environment, and willingness to cross-train within other departments. Education requirement includes high school diploma or GED; certification as a Medical Assistant and CPR certification are preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred; Texas Driver’s License preferred with travel as needed. reimbursement for certification-related expenses up to $250 is offered. Role is based in Laredo, Texas (USA) and is FULL_TIME.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills for taking patient histories and documenting information
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff with diplomacy and tact
- Beginner to intermediate computing and phone skills
- Demonstrates flexibility regarding job duties and assignments
- Willingness to cross-train within other departments within scope of duties
- Ability to multi-task in a high-stress, fast-moving environment
- Culturally sensitive and effective with ethnically diverse populations
- HIPAA confidentiality and nondisclosure standards
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
- Current, valid Certification of Medical Assistant, preferred
- Current, valid CPR certification
- Willingness to cross-train within other departments
- Valid Texas Driver’s License preferred, insurance, and ability to travel as required to perform duties
