Job Summary

Perform phlebotomy, laboratory blood work, and quality control procedures while preparing slides and troubleshooting instrument malfunctions. Obtain vital signs, pain levels, and PHQ9 screenings, then document all patient interactions and lab reports in the EMR system. Assist physicians with procedures including bone marrow taps, fine needle aspirates, and pelvic exams, while scheduling outside testing and referrals. Maintain test logs, equipment records, and supply inventory to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with potential overtime and travel to other clinic locations.

Required Qualifications

  • High School or GED
  • BLS required
  • Valid Driver's License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed
  • One-year experience as a medical assistant in clinic or physician's office with ability to perform venipuncture
  • Critical thinking skills including solid problem solving, analysis, decision-making, planning, time management and organizational skills
  • Must be detailed oriented with the ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Developed interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, diplomacy, tact, conflict management, delegation skills, and diversity awareness
  • Ability to work effectively with sensitive and confidential material and sometimes emotionally charged matters
  • Good command of the English language
  • Effective communication skills (oral, written, presentation)
  • Active listener
  • Ability to effectively provide balanced feedback
  • Strong customer focus

  • Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook required
  • EMR
  • Must be able to perform compliance testing
  • Must take the required number of CEUs annually to meet C.O.L.A. requirements
  • Must be able to work overtime when given sufficient notice of required overtime
  • Will be expected to work at any AON location to help meet AON business needs
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment with demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and demands from a variety of stakeholders and sites
