Job Summary
Collaborate with the Patient Care Team to provide clinical care and administrative support in a clinic setting. Prepare for exams and procedures, facilitate patient rooming and intake, and obtain accurate vital signs. Document patient care in the electronic health record, complete prior authorizations, and perform point-of-care testing per CLIA guidelines. Administer medications and immunizations, provide patient education, and manage instrument cleaning and supply levels. Work Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with a biweekly Saturday rotation at the Marshalltown Clinic. Eligible for a shift differential when working Saturdays or after 5 PM.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of experience in a medical assistant, patient care technician, certified nurse assistant, phlebotomy, or related clinical position or completion of medical assisting program from an accredited institution.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and collaboration skills with ability for a team approach to care plus develop and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of individuals.
- Organization and priority skills with detail orientation.
- Professional skills with ability to remain composed in all situations and show empathy.
- Basic computer skills with proficiency using Microsoft Office applications and electronic health record system.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Current Basic Life Support for HealthCare Providers*
- current Mandatory Reporter approved for the State of Iowa*
- Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM
- Saturday 9 AM - 1 PM, once every 6 weeks @ Marshalltown Clinic
- 40 Hours Per Week
Desired Qualifications
- Effective Medical Assistant skills with ability to utilize universal precautions in patient care.
- Work experience in a community health center or medical clinic.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in Spanish.
- Phlebotomy skills.
