Job Summary
Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam. Explain prescribed procedures and treatments, administer medications and treatments, and draw blood or perform lab tests and equipment maintenance. Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately, respond to lab messages, and conduct drug screening and immunization procedures. Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain complete documentation. Conduct physician referrals and service pre-certifications as needed. This role supports outpatient clinics within American Family Care's network of primary and urgent care centers, which operate seven days a week with onsite lab and x-ray capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
- six months to one-year related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
