Job Summary
Medical Assistant role performing front-desk to triage duties in a fast-paced urgent care/medical office. Responsibilities include greeting and triaging patients, taking vitals, venipuncture and CLIA-waived point-of-care testing, assisting with minor procedures, insurance verification and patient registration, EMR accuracy, patient education on procedures and financial expectations, and supporting HIPAA/compliance. Requires completion of an accredited MA program, active MA certification, BLS (on hire or onboarding), and 1+ year of insurance verification/patient registration experience; prior urgent care/ER exposure valued. Must pass drug screen and background check; must be available evenings/weekends and able to float to nearby centers.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Active national MA certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) at hire
- Active BLS certification required or must be obtained within defined onboarding period
- At least 1+ year of experience with insurance verification and patient registration
- EMR proficiency (Experity preferred); comfort with payer portals (e.g., Waystar)
- Proven venipuncture and specimen collection skills
- Must successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check
- Full availability including ability to work evenings/weekends and float to nearby centers as needed
