Job Summary
Room patients, obtain vital signs, remove staples and sutures, apply or remove casts/splints, assist with dressing changes, and complete paperwork. Collect subjective and objective health status data from patients or caregivers and communicate this information to health care providers. Follow through on patient care plans under provider direction and transmit written care instructions. Perform point of care testing and observe patient signs or symptoms. Work independently and as part of a team in the ambulatory care setting. Perform duties under direct supervision of a licensed medical professional.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program
- Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment
- Re-certification as required
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
