Job Summary
Conduct patient examinations and treatments under physician direction while obtaining vital signs, interviewing patients, and recording chart information. Draw and collect blood samples, prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, and coordinate patient flow by scheduling appointments, procedures, tests, and referrals. Triage phone calls, process non-narcotic prescriptions per provider direction, and communicate with patients and families. Assist with regulatory and compliance needs for the clinic while working under close supervision of the physician and clinic manager.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to interview patients
- Ability to obtain vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height)
- Ability to record information on patients' charts
- Ability to draw and collect blood samples from patients
- Ability to prepare specimens or swabs obtained for laboratory analysis
- Ability to coordinate patient flow
- Ability to schedule appointments, procedures, tests and referrals
- Ability to triage phone calls
- Ability to call-in non-narcotic prescriptions as per provider's direction
- Ability to communicate with patients and their families
- Ability to assist with regulatory and compliance needs of the clinic
