Job Summary
Obtains, monitors, and records vital signs, patient history, and invasive procedures while ensuring accuracy in the Electronic Health Record. Assists providers with examinations, procedures, and processes related to direct patient care, including preparing patients for venipunctures, injections, and intravenous therapy. Fields patient phone calls promptly and maintains patient documentation, communicating plans of care with providers. Ensures examination rooms are clean and stocked, sterilizes equipment, and completes shift opening and closing procedures. Provides medication administration only under the supervision of a delegated provider in accordance with Colorado Rule 800.
Required Qualifications
- At least one year of prior medical assistant experience
- One of the following licenses: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by American Medical Technologist (AMT), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) by the National Center for Competency Testing, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by the National Healthcare Association, Medical Assistant Certification (MAC) by the American Medical Certification Association, Nationally Registered Certified Med...
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English
- Must be HIPAA compliant
