Job Summary
Prepare examination rooms, assist with patient check-ins and transfers, and check vital signs including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure. Obtain and document medical history, drug history, and allergies on correct forms while performing diagnostic procedures when ordered. Maintain examination room stock levels, complete lab and x-ray requisitions, and enter demographic data into the computer. Additional duties include sterilization, crutch fitting, and splint fitting. This role requires a current Certified Medical Assistant with one year of experience and a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited certificate.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate
- Graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) of the American Medical Technologists or a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces
- Current certification as a medical assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants or Current registration by the American Medical Technologists or other formal program as specified in the TO
- One year of experience as a Medical Assistant after graduation
