Medical Assistant - AHN Skin Cancer Center - West Penn - Full-Time

Medical Assistant to support AHN Skin Cancer Center at West Penn in Pittsburgh. Under supervision, assists in coordinating examination, treatment and health care planning; prepares and rooms patients; accurately obtains vital signs and documents patient information, patient history, tobacco and medication screening. May assist with depression screening, annual wellness visits, and reviews medication lists in the EHR. Uses AHN protocols to pend/cues up orders for screenings, prescriptions, refills or other orders; performs back-office testing; assists providers with examinations and procedures; may serve as a scribe with further training. Provides follow-up communication per provider instructions; notifies patients of test results; maintains exam rooms and inventory; sterilizes instruments; performs lab controls and equipment checks; administers and documents medications per policy; accurately documents in the EHR and may float between physician locations. Compliance with HIPAA and privacy policies is required; responsible for data security and adherence to company code of conduct. High likelihood of in-person work at West Penn location with potential travel between physician office locations.
