Job Summary
Medical Assistant needed to support wound care under provider/RN supervision, assist with wound dressing applications, participate in patient education, and document treatments and progress. Responsibilities include recording all elements of patient visits (wound and lower extremity assessments), assisting with minor procedures and as a scribe when applicable, adhering to HIPAA guidelines, participating in data collection for performance improvement, and maintaining supplies and room readiness. Requires High school diploma or GED and MA licensure/certification as applicable, BLS certification, and at least 1 year of healthcare experience. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8am–4:30pm with no weekends; location Cornwall, NY; full-time permanent position with benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED certification
- MA with active license/certification in appropriate state (Diploma or degree from a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program; State Certification preferred but not required)
- BLS AHA certification
- Language skills adequate for high-level written, interpersonal and telephone communication in American English
- Strong technical skills such as, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
- One (1) year in healthcare setting requirement
