Job Summary
Greet and room patients, perform routine diagnostic testing including phlebotomy, EKGs, and laboratory specimen preparation, and administer medications by injection. Verify patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical history, and confirming visit purposes while preparing them for examinations by measuring vital signs and reporting summaries. Maintain accurate electronic health records, manage equipment and medication storage, and ensure exam rooms and laboratory areas remain clean and orderly. Collaborate with the Care Team to provide patient education on diet, special care procedures, and medication while adhering to workflows that support the Patient Centered Medical Home model.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years in Medical Assistant role
- High school diploma/GED
- Medical Assistant credential, certification or registration
- BLS certification
- Knowledge and thorough understanding of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC's) in regard to the Federal 330 Public Health Service Act
- Knowledge of thorough understanding of the 340B program
- Knowledge of computer systems and applications
- Electronic health record proficiency
- Administration of medication by injection
- Phlebotomy competency
- Ability to competently use Microsoft Office
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in primary care providing care for all patient populations preferred
