Job Summary
Medical Assistant provides professional clinical care for patients at Women’s Care, supporting physicians during exams, procedures, and testing. Responsibilities include preparing patients for examinations, restocking and sterilizing rooms, recording vital signs and medical history, performing phlebotomy and injections when applicable, educating patients per provider instructions, and ensuring a safe, HIPAA-compliant environment. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, comfort working in a fast-paced ambulatory setting, and proficiency with electronic medical records (preferably eCW). A high school diploma or GED is required; a Certified Medical Assistant credential (or ability to obtain within the first 120 days in FL) and CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days) are preferred. Experience in OB/GYN or primary care is a plus, along with knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- (FL Only) Certified Medical Assistant preferred OR ability to obtain within first 120 days
- Graduate of nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR served in Armed Forces as Medical Technician with honorable discharge
- Current CPR and/or BLS certification preferred OR ability to obtain within 30 days of employment via training
- Experience in OB/GYN or Primary Care a plus
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections (if applicable)
- Ability to perform dosage calculations and measurement conversions
- Proficient in electronic medical records (preferably eCW)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
