Job Summary

Medical Assistant needed at Women’s Care to provide professional clinical support in obstetrics/gynecology settings. Responsibilities include preparing patients for examinations, assisting providers during treatment and procedures, maintaining clean and stocked exam and lab areas, recording medical history and vital signs, performing phlebotomy and injections as directed, educating patients as directed, ensuring HIPAA compliance, relaying messages between patients and providers, representing the office professionally, participating in team and development activities, attending required meetings, and supporting the mission and values of the organization. Qualifications emphasize a high school diploma or GED, MA program completion or military Medical Technician background (FL MA certification preferred or obtainable within 120 days), CPR/BLS certification (preferred or obtainable within 30 days), experience in OBGYN or Primary Care a plus, knowledge of medical terminology, ability to work with electronic medical records (eCW preferred), and strong organizational and communication skills.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • (FL Only) Certified Medical Assistant preferred OR ability to obtain certification within first 120 days of employment
  • Graduate of nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR served in the Armed Forces as a Medical Technician with honorable discharge
  • Current CPR and/or BLS certification preferred OR ability to obtain within 30 days via training
  • Experience working in OBGYN or Primary Care a plus
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections (if applicable)
  • Ability to perform dosage calculations and measurement conversions
  • Strong professional communication with internal staff, providers, patients and families
  • Proficiency with computers and entering data in electronic medical records (preferably eCW)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Dependable, reliable, and punctual
