Job Summary
Medical Assistant role at Women’s Care providing clinical support for obstetrics/gynecology and related specialties. Responsibilities include preparing patients and rooms for visits, assisting providers during treatment and procedures, collecting specimens (phlebotomy and injections as applicable), recording medical histories and vital signs, maintaining HIPAA-compliant workflows, educating patients, and representing the office professionally. Requires high school diploma or GED; MA program completion or equivalent military training; certification/certification-eligibility within stated timelines; CPR/BLS preferred; experience in OB/GYN or primary care is a plus; proficient in medical terminology, EHR usage (preferably eCW); strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills; able to perform dosage calculations and measurements; punctual and reliable; willingness to participate in team activities and meet organizational values. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Graduate of a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR served in the Armed Forces as a Medical Technician with honorable discharge
- (FL Only) Certified Medical Assistant preferred OR the ability to obtain the certification within the first 120 days of employment
- Current CPR and/or BLS certification preferred OR the ability to obtain the certification within 30 days of employment via Women’s Care training
- Experience working in OB/GYN or Primary Care a plus
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections, if applicable
- Ability to perform dosage calculations and measurement conversions
- Professional communication with internal and external personnel and patients
- Good organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Computer skills and data entry in electronic medical records (preferably eCW)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Dependable, reliable, and punctual
