Job Summary
Monitor patient flow, triage visits, and collect histories while accompanying patients to exam rooms. Manage charts in the EMR by scanning forms, preparing records prior to visits, and entering prescription refill requests. Perform or assist with in-office procedures, interpret test results, and counsel patients on treatment. Maintain infection control standards, answer calls and emails, and coordinate with staff to ensure account payments. Adhere to HIPAA compliance and participate in staff meetings as directed by the Practice Manager. Requires CMA certification, 2-3 years of specialty experience, and gastroenterology background preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Current Certified or Registered Medical Assistant
- CPR certification
- 2-3 years of specialty clinical experience
- gastroenterology experience
- Computer literacy
- Ability to operate various healthcare systems
- Ability to operate multiple Microsoft Office applications
- Travel as business needs dictate
