Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care to clinic patients by administering prescribed medications, performing blood draws and IVs, conducting EKGs, and removing sutures. Prepare equipment for physician examinations, screen patients for appropriate information, and greet individuals while instructing them on sample collection. Maintain patient confidentiality and records by filing charts chronologically, reviewing pertinent information, and destroying outdated documents per established procedures. Monitor patient conditions, report reactions to treatments, and arrange for admissions, testing, and insurance referrals. Ensure exam rooms remain clean and stocked with necessary supplies while responding to incoming telephone calls and messages. Maintain outdate logs and medication logs, authorize prescription refills as directed, and assist providers in obtaining information to adhere to professional standards.
Required Qualifications
- Medical patient care experience
- Training of a general nursing nature
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Phlebotomy certification
- Computer proficiency
- Full range of body motion
- Handling and lifting patients
- Manual dexterity
- Eye-hand coordination
- Ability to stand and walk for extensive periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds
- Corrected vision to normal range
- Corrected hearing to normal range
- Ability to work under stressful conditions
- Ability to work irregular hours
- Ability to work with exposure to communicable diseases
- Ability to work with exposure to bodily fluids
