Job Summary
Greet patients, obtain chief complaints, and perform clinical duties including blood draws, immunizations, and routine tests like pregnancy and strep screenings. Prepare patients for examinations, administer injections under provider direction, and collect, label, and process specimens. Manage administrative tasks by updating charts, answering calls, conducting inventory, and maintaining vaccine storage temperatures. Relieve other staff, supervise students or temporary personnel, and assist the Medical Assistant Supervisor as needed. This role supports HealthLinc's Patient-Centered Medical Home initiatives. Candidates must hold a Medical Assistant degree, pass certification within six months, and maintain current CPR certification.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of a program for Medical Assistants
- Ability to pass MA Certification/Registration exam within the first six months of employment
- Current CPR certification
- At least 1 year of work experience as Medical Assistant
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proven ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to deal with stressful situations including difficult personalities
- Ability to follow HealthLinc policies and procedures
- Operate a multi-line phone system and other office equipment including printers, fax machines, etc.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, EHR, online sources, etc.)
- All assigned Relias trainings
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited 2-year Medical Assistant associates degree program
- At least 1 year of work experience as Medical Assistant
