Job Summary
Conduct patient registration, verify insurance eligibility, and process co-pays while managing check-in and appointment scheduling. Perform preliminary physical exams, measure vital signs, and draw blood specimens for laboratory analysis. Prepare treatment rooms, conduct point-of-care testing, and coordinate provider referrals to specialists. Maintain medical records, manage supply inventory, and perform opening and closing duties including cashing out. Answer phone calls, sort correspondence, and execute daily equipment calibration and quality control logs. This role supports Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care centers across Connecticut, offering an on-demand consumer-centric care experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA)
- One of the following certifications at the time of hire: CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, or NRCMA
- OR 1+ years of working experience as a Medical Assistant in a Hospital or Urgent Care Setting
- OR 1+ years of working phlebotomist experience
- OR Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing or LPN or RN
- OR EMT certification verified through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians
- OR CNA certification
- CPOE certification for order entry within two weeks of start date
