Job Summary
Greet patients and families, direct them to exam rooms, and maintain clinic flow while monitoring wait times. Perform pre-visit planning to ensure visit efficiencies, prepare exam rooms to safety standards, and assist providers with the exam process including administering medications, immunizations, and procedures like blood draws. Collect and document patient information such as vitals, measurements, and allergies, reporting observations to the nurse or provider. Maintain a clean environment, manage supply levels, and complete paperwork for prior authorizations. Communicate with staff to alert providers of patients needing immediate assistance and support other primary care locations as requested.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED)
- CMA-Certified Medical Assistant
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council
- Ability to assist and support other primary care locations as requested by leaders and/or the CMG float policy
- Ability to work with a diverse patient population to promote a culturally competent environment
- Requires flexibility of time and duties in order to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team
- Night and/or weekend hours may be required during high volume or viral surge periods where additional patient access is needed
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate of medical assistant program
- 6 months of experience in a patient care role
- Experience in a primary care, urgent care, or specialty care pediatric setting
- Experience in administering immunizations and other injections
- Experience with pediatric patients
- Electronic Health Record proficiency
- CMA-Certified Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Assistants
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council
