Job Summary
Greet patients professionally, escort them to examination rooms, and take vital signs while accurately entering results into patient charts. Review and update medical histories, complete medical records, and prepare patients for examinations, tests, or procedures. Perform clinic duties to maintain smooth flow, including EKGs and stress tests as needed, and notify physicians when patients are ready. Return patient calls within 24 hours, ensure all pertinent test results are communicated, and refer patients to outside testing or appointments per physician instructions. Schedule hospital procedures and notify Pre-Cert departments in advance. Direct or escort patients to the check-out counter upon visit completion.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of accredited certified medical assistant or accredited nursing program
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in performing clinical activities in a medical environment
- Basic knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology with concentration in cardiology
