Job Summary
Medical Assistant needed for direct clinical services in the outpatient psychiatric/behavioral health setting (Psychiatric Services Clinic or Integrated Case Management). Works in a multidisciplinary team-based model aligned with NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home guidelines. In-person role based at Grand Rapids, MI from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday–Friday (40 hours/week) with no weekends or on-call requirements. Responsibilities include supporting clients in ongoing outpatient care, assisting with documentation, and coordinating care within a multidisciplinary team; minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, at least one year of clinical MA experience, CPR certification (or ability to obtain within six months), and foundational medical terminology and computer skills. Preferred qualifications include CMA or RMA certification, experience with EHR, and familiarity with psychiatric/substance use disorder services. Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Medical Assistant certificate program from an accredited Medical Assistant program
- At least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting
- Current valid CPR certification or obtain within six (6) months of hire
- Education or training in the basics of medical terminology
- Computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, database management and e-mail
Desired Qualifications
- CMA certification preferred (AAMA) or RMA certification (AMT)
- Experience with electronic health records
- Strong understanding of psychiatric and substance use disorder services
- Bilingual or multilingual capabilities valued
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
- CPR certification (or ability to obtain within six months)
- Medical terminology knowledge
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and email
