Job Summary
Medical Assistant at Keck Medicine of USC (USC Keck Medicine) supporting student health and clinical operations with full-time, rotating shifts. Responsibilities include escorting patients to exam rooms, obtaining and recording vital signs and medication lists, monitoring patient flow, assisting physicians with minor clinical procedures, performing EKGs, preparing patient charts in the EHR, scheduling diagnostic tests, maintaining infection control and patient privacy, stocking and disinfecting care areas, managing files and supplies, and providing coverage for co-workers. Requires CMA certification or equivalent and BLS; prefers familiarity with scheduling software and medical terminology, and Spanish language skills. 2-Month furlough noted in title; position is non-union and non-exempt.
Required Qualifications
- Req High school or equivalent
- Graduate from an accredited school of Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
- Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) (If no card upon hire, must obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
- Certified Medical Assistant - CMA
