Job Summary
Coordinate patient care interventions under clinician direction by collecting data, measuring vital signs, administering vaccines and injections, and performing point-of-care testing or phlebotomy. Assist the patient care team with efficient workflows, infection prevention, and activities of daily living while reporting changes in patient status to the assigned nurse. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement individualized care plans and promote health and wellness strategies. Mentor new patient care technicians and demonstrate competency in psychomotor skills and safety protocols. Deliver care guided by Jean Watson's Theory of Human Caring, fostering respectful relationships and advocating for patients within the Stormont Vail Health primary care delivery network.
Required Qualifications
- Successfully completed first semester in an accredited nursing program
- A Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician
- Experience in an office or clinic setting
- Active certification to practice in Kansas as either Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician

- Knowledgeable of and follows proper technique for patient care
- Communicates pertinent patient information to appropriate staff in a timely manner
- Functions with an awareness and application of safety issues as identified within the institution
- Participates actively in educational activities for department
- Demonstrates competency in selected psychomotor skills
