Job Summary
Conduct routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep physician offices running smoothly, including preparing examination rooms, guiding patients, and performing procedures such as taking histories, vitals, blood draws, and administering immunizations. Assist physicians during patient examinations, educate patients on treatment plans and costs, and prepare patient documents including diagnostic orders, prescriptions, and insurance claims. Update physical and online patient records, arrange hospital admissions, and handle clerical duties like answering phones and greeting customers. Requires Medical Assistant Certification, high school diploma, and at least two years of primary care experience.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Certification from a relevant accredited program
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a primary care setting
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Medical Assistant Certification
- High school diploma
- At least 2 years of related experience
- Strong organizing, coordinating and multi-tasking abilities
- Good clinical skills and physiological knowledge
- Ability to perform comprehensive medical histories and physical exams
- Ability to communicate complex medical information to a diverse population
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Knowledge of office administration, clerical procedures, and recordkeeping systems
