Job Summary
Provide clerical and clinical assistance to medical providers by performing vital signs, administering injections, triaging needs, and assisting during procedures. Manage patient flow by rooming patients, handling referrals and callbacks, and verifying insurance information. Collect and process lab specimens, prepare prior authorizations, and maintain sanitation of exam rooms and equipment. Engage patients in self-management, conduct chart reviews, and participate in quality improvement projects and staff meetings.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 2 years Medical Assistant experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or ability to obtain certification
- Ability to perform venipuncture
- Ability to administer injections
- Ability to complete CLIA waived lab tests
- Knowledge of correct specimen handling procedures
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of OSHA manual and standards, including appropriate hazardous waste handling and disposal
- Knowledge of billing codes and procedures
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize work load
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer skills
- Ability to function within a team environment to achieve stated objectives
- Must be able to regularly perform light lifting and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Desired Qualifications
