Job Summary
Provide safe, compassionate care to patients in clinic and surgical settings by interviewing them, measuring vital signs, and obtaining consent forms. Assist physicians with examinations and procedures, including administering medications, collecting specimens, and performing tasks like giving injections or removing sutures. Prepare sterile fields, manage instruments, and maintain clean, stocked treatment rooms while properly disposing of biohazard waste. Schedule appointments, coordinate tests, and perform routine laboratory analyses. Greet patients, explain treatment instructions, and respond to emergencies by notifying staff and ensuring proper documentation. Maintain accurate medical records and inventory supplies.
Required Qualifications
- One (1)+ year experience in a medical setting
- Thorough knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of sterile technique, anatomy, and medications
- Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
- Management and organizational skills to support the leadership of this function
- Ability to follow or provide verbal & written instructions with sufficient grammar and spelling skills to avoid mistakes or misinterpretations
- Interpersonal skills to support customer service, functional, and team mate support needs
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Mathematical and/or analytical ability for basic to intermediate problem solving
- Basic to intermediate computer operation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Specialty knowledge of systems relating to job function
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position
- general understanding of HIPAA guidelines
